1. CopperLan Installation.  I installed the CopperLan Package on both my SCOPE PC and the MacBook Pro where I'm running PreSonus Studio One as my DAW.  The installers can be downloaded hereSince CopperLan uses Ethernet you have to tell it which Ethernet adapter to use. This is done in the settings window of the CopperLan Manager application. The Windows XP SCOPE PC shows up as 'REDMOND' in the CP Manager and the MacBook Pro as 'cupertino', since these are the names of the computers. They are both located in the same room, though.

The CopperLan Manager is the control center of your CopperLan network where you define how messages flow between your devices. It comes with a snapshot feature that allows you to save and recall several different configurations of your network. You don't have to keep the application open to use CopperLan, though. The CP Manager is also available for the iPad by the way.

To enable other software (like DAWs for example) to talk to the devices on the CopperLan network, the installer creates four virtual MIDI ports. If you need more ports, you can change the number on the 'Edit' page of the CopperLan Manager as I did in my setup (go to 'MIDI settings' of the corresponding machine).
