Back in the '80s there was no YouTube or even CDs, so to advertise hi-tech music gear, retailers and suppliers utilized press space or distributed audio promotions on cassette.  Not such a bad idea, using audio to promote audio gear so here's a quick trip back to 1985 to see how it was done.  Results varied as much gear was sold and many companies sprang up then just as suddenly disappeared.  Others stayed on and stood the test of time.
