Scope is like a diamond.  It defies market forces and trends, a trait which attracts the attention of doomsayers and loyal followers alike.  Also attracting attention at this year's MusikMesse in March, Sonic Core and John Bowen were showing their latest offerings and visions of the future.  Open Scope technology development is now in full swing and Hurolura spoke to the team about this new direction.

Also amongst this month's visionaries, we have Roy Thinnes inventiveness in bringing us 'The Mooxer', Mr Arkadin's workhorse-like determination in bringing us hundreds of free device links, Kensugaro and Voidar's sense of 'and now for something completely different' in bringing us a VHS Tape emulator and more of DAS's inventiveness and quest for sonic perfection in bringing us the DAS SC Gate.

In addition there's a continuing show of musicians using Scope in different ways, such as Alfonso (including Nestor's web design talent) and eHasting outlining his STS sampler endeavors.  The Sonic Core 'Six String' gets a look-over which reveals many performance characteristics born from the real thing but also capable of yielding totally unreal results as well.

With hardware offshoots like Solaris and Ferrofish releasing products last year, and the announcement of Open Scope earlier this year, we can see that the Scope diamond is destined to shine on.  Brighter than ever.

Add side-chain support to filtered gating and you have a truly unique product.  Here, we outline its sonic possibilities

Good physical modeling yields a great sound like the real thing in some ways and some interesting unreal ones also.   Mooxer = Mixer + Looper. Roy Thinnes of cwmodular fame brings us a descendant of Atom's Looper Delay device.

Mr Arkadin's huge effort in compiling this list is obvious.  Now start your own treasure trove through this new index.

Kensugaro and Voidar team up with some lateral thinking in their realization of a VHS Tape emulation plug-in.   Alfonso and Nestor combine talents in creation of this website and albums mixed and produced entirely on Scope.   Hurolura is our roving reporter at this year's Frankfurt MusikMesse bringing us news from the Sonic Core music industry show stand.

eHasting demonstrates the usefulness of the STS samplers, drawing sounds from various libraries in various formats.
